Our Month In Power Hours

Back in December, we offered our Power Hour services for free to hospitality businesses impacted by the pandemic and the Omicron outbreak at a peak time of year. Something we’ve always been aware of, and the very reason we offer Power Hours is that sometimes, you just need a sounding board for your business to help refocus where you should place your energy, time and resources. Sometimes the ideas are nearly there, sometimes you have fragments of knowledge that just need shaping from an external ear.

So going into another year of uncertainty, we thought it would be great to meet with a few businesses that just needed steering, a little ideation, and a cheerleader to help them through. Over the course of January, we were lucky to meet with some really interesting brands and help them with everything from content marketing to email marketing (and everything in between). Not only was it a great experience for them (we’re blown away by the feedback we got from it!) but it was incredibly interesting for us.

What is a Power Hour?

Let’s start with the obvious, what exactly is a Power Hour here at The Doers? Well, we offer one-hour sessions that aim to help you with your marketing questions and queries. They can either be left as general sessions, where we can chat about everything and anything, or if you have a particular sticking point, say, SEO for instance, we can tailor it to that.

The idea behind them is to give every business an affordable easy, plug-in marketing option. As we said, sometimes you just need a helpful push in the right direction or some constructive advice on a campaign. The possibilities are truly endless.

Shout out to The Doers for the awesome marketing power hour this morning. Can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking to kick-start their 2022 marketing plans!

What we learnt from our month in Power Hours

People have amazing ideas, they just need a little developing

We always come away feeling energised from our Power Hours. Why? Because everyone we speak to has incredible ideas and drive. Where we come in is helping to develop those ideas into marketing strategies which will help the brands hit their business goals, whether it’s brand awareness or conversions.

No business is the same, even when they’re in the same industry

As mentioned above we gave the free Power Hours away in January to those in the hospitality industry, some might think that we would have seen fairly similar teething issues appear but that was not the case. Despite having some of the same hurdles to jump over, each business we spoke to used their hours differently. Some using it for overall marketing advice, others drilling into content and some using it for website advice.

In the face of hard times, incredible brands are still building

Across the board we noticed how despite how hard things have been in the last two years with the pandemic, ever changing lockdown rules and a complete change in our societal landscape, there is still an incredible drive from brands. It’s really inspiring to see people still working hard to change, adapt and bring their ideas to the table. We’re so grateful to be a part of their process.

Wow! I’d been having a ‘Monday morning blues day’ all day, but after that amazing Power Hour, I was so enthused and ‘powered up’ that I had to run downstairs to share all the amazing advice and exciting directions that I have come away with!!
