Influencer Marketing in 2022: The Best Campaigns So Far

It’s been another huge year in the world of influencer marketing, and we’ve already seen some major wins from brands leading the way with their campaigns. But as always, with winners come losers and it’s clear that as the influencer marketing industry develops and the expectations of consumers and audiences change, the years of throwing money at high follower counts no longer mean campaign success. Here’s a rundown of the best influencer marketing campaigns so far in 2022.

eBay x Tasha Ghouri

Love Island 2022 made waves by turning its back on the fast fashion industry it had previously become synonymous with, choosing to partner instead with preloved powerhouse eBay. Working with a stylist, eBay regularly dropped new clothes into the villa and one standout fashionista contestant emerged: Tasha Ghouri. Shortly after the season ended, eBay snapped Tasha up and announced her as their first ever ambassador - and the internet went wild for the collaboration, pairing second-hand shopping and an influencer with a strong personal style.

Chipotle x The Corn Kid

If you’ve not heard of the Corn Kid, where have you been? Not on TikTok clearly, but Mexican fast food chain Chipotle are and they managed to pull off one of the best-executed pieces of trend-led ‘influencer’ marketing this year. When his interview with Recess Therapy was turned into a viral song, Chipotle decided they’d go one further than creating their own spin on the song; they got Tariq, the Corn Kid himself and fan of Chipotle, down to his local restaurant to film a collaboration. The video quickly became their best performing Instagram and TikTok video of all time, with 13.2 million views on Instagram and 21.4 million views on TikTok.

Home Essentials x Frankie Bridge

Interior and homeware brand Home Essentials launched a campaign to inspire people to make their house a home, positioning themselves at the forefront of the popular interior and home space online. With singer and presenter Frankie Bridge at the helm of the campaign, Home Essentials created a host of content across multiple platforms including Pinterest and Instagram with other interior and lifestyle influencers to complement the media traction drummed up by Frankie.
